Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the conservatory that looks out at our grazing sheep and cows, our goose, hens, ducks and moorhens on the wildlife pond.

Breakfast times are to suit our guests.

We want to share our glorious Forest of Bowland countryside with visitors, so there are binoculars for guests to borrow, plus walking, cycling, bus and road maps.

Our menu includes:

We aim to use local produce from local suppliers wherever possible.

  • Our dry cured bacon, home-made sausages and Bury black puddings come from Countrystyle Meats (www.countrystylemeats.co.uk). The shop is at the Ribblesdale Centre, Lincoln Way, Clitheroe BB7 1QD where there’s a friendly welcome from Alan and his team. They supply meats, including venison and game, and other produce such as eggs and jams, from local farmers and producers. Tel: 01200 428500.

  • Free range eggs are produced by our own hens (you can see them from the conservatory windows) - unless they're on a go-slow.

  • Our home-made potato cakes are made from home-grown spuds when available.

  • Marmalade and jams are home-made usually by us or by local jam makers.

  • Milk comes Thornbers, who have a family dairy farm nearby, or Bowland Fresh.

  • Manx kippers come from Devereau's on the Isle of Man. Devereau's

  • Smoked salmon is responsibly-farmed and caught.
